Disaster Assistance
If you have been impacted by a natural disaster, you may be eligible for assistance with your federal student loans. In particular, you may be able to postpone your payments
for a period of up to three months while you recover. During forbearance (postponement) of payment on your loans, interest is still charged.
Contact MOHELA to request a Natural Disaster Forbearance if you are in a federally-declared disaster area.
If you are having difficulty making a payment, regardless of the circumstances, please contact MOHELA to discuss
ways to keep your account in good standing.
