Bryon Goos, Servicemember and Veteran Liaison

Bryon comes from a family with a long history of military service. He has several years of Contact Center Management experience. Also, he has more than 20 years of finance and client relations experience, which included working one-on-one with Military Servicemembers to go over their eligibility and benefits to help them obtain the financing they need.

Bryon began working in MOHELA’s Contact Center in 2013. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to Contact Center Senior. Bryon joined MOHELA’s Customer Advocacy Team in 2015, and continues to advocate and bring ideas for improving upon our military borrower experience.

Stephanie Huffman, Servicemember and Veteran Liaison

Stephanie Huffman, graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Anthropology from Truman State University. Stephanie began working in MOHELA’s Contact Center in 2013. In 2015, she joined MOHELA’s Customer Advocacy Team.

Stephanie continues to utilize both her extensive student loan experience and military knowledge to help advocate for all military Servicemembers and provide a world class customer service experience.

Stephanie descends from a long line of Servicemembers herself. Both her grandfather and brother served respectively. Her grandfather was a member of the United States Air Force and worked within intelligence during his career; while her brother was a member of the United States Naval Academy. With these cultural influences and her overall experience, Stephanie looks forward to aiding you through the repayment of your student loan(s).

Giovany Mendoza, Servicemember and Veteran Liaison

Giovany Mendoza, has had the pleasure of serving with our country's active duty and military veterans while serving as a volunteer firefighter, since 2015. At the age of 10, Giovany’s family moved to the United States from Mexico.

With Spanish being his first language, Giovany is able to incorporate this bilingual skill into his work. Any Servicemembers who utilize Spanish as their native language are in excellent hands with Giovany.

In 2015, Giovany began working in MOHELA’s Contact Center. Then in 2018, he joined MOHELA’s Customer Advocacy Team. Giovany not only brings his military knowledge to MOHELA, but an emphasis to provide excellent customer service.

Our Customer Advocacy Team supports the Servicemember and Veteran Liaisons by providing:

  • Specialized assistance and attention to address borrower concerns

  • Solutions to borrower issues as quickly as possible

  • Efficient and accurate research based on Federal Policies and Regulations

  • Response to complex inquiries regarding student loan accounts and offering the best possible solution

  • Extensive support to internal teams to ensure we fulfill the Customer Promise
