MATT ELLIOTT, SERVICEMEMBER AND VETERAN LIAISON

Matt served our country for eight years. In 2006, Matt enlisted in the U.S. Marine Reserves as an infantryman. After graduating from School of Infantry at Camp Pendleton, Calif., he was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 24th Marines Regiment in Bridgeton, MO. In June of 2009, he was called to active duty and his battalion was the last Marine Infantry Unit to serve in Iraq. In May of 2014, Matt completed service in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Matt brings his military knowledge and extensive customer service experience to his role as a Liaison.

REGINA BROOKS, SERVICEMEMBER AND VETERAN LIAISON

Regina graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Harris-Stowe State University. Currently Regina is in the process of completing a Master of Arts in Communications from Webster University.

Out of high school, Regina joined the Army National Guard joining a family legacy of military service forged by her father and grandfather. She served for two years as a military police officer with the 1139th Military Policy Company in Harrisonville, Mo. while working on her bachelor’s degree. Although she was proud to serve in her role, she dreamed of working on planes, particularly the Apache.

In February 2012, Regina reenlisted into the United States Air Force Reserves. From February 2012 to April 2013, Regina trained at Joint Base San Antonio, Pensacola Naval Air Station and Whiteman Air Force Base to become a maintainer on the A-10 Warthog. Regina currently calls Whiteman Air Force Base, home of the B2 Bomber and the A-10 Warthog, her home station. In March of 2014, Regina deployed with her unit, the 442nd Fighter Wing, to Bagram Airfield in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Bryon Goos, Servicemember and Veteran Liaison

Bryon comes from a family with a long history of military service. He has several years of Contact Center Management experience. Also, he has more than 20 years of finance and client relations experience, which included working one-on-one with Military Servicemembers to go over their eligibility and benefits to help them obtain the financing they need.

Bryon began working in MOHELA’s Contact Center in 2013. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to Contact Center Senior. Bryon joined MOHELA’s Customer Advocacy Team in 2015, and continues to advocate and bring ideas for improving upon our military borrower experience.

ABOUT THE CUSTOMER ADVOCACY TEAM

Our Customer Advocacy Team supports the Servicemember and Veteran Liaisons by providing:

  • Specialized assistance and attention to address borrower concerns
  • Solutions to borrower issues as quickly as possible
  • Efficient and accurate research based on Federal Policies and Regulations
  • Response to complex inquiries regarding student loan accounts and offering the best possible solution
  • Extensive support to internal teams to ensure we fulfill the Customer Promise
