Loan Servicing Specialist (Internal and External Candidates) - Grade 12

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze accounts via reports, queues, and correspondence for all loan programs serviced by MOHELA
• Take the appropriate action to change/maintain all applicable account information based on MOHELA guidelines/procedures and State and Federal Regulations
• Provide backup to Customer Service by taking phone calls from borrowers when needed
• Complete assigned correspondence/tasks in a timely and accurate manner
• Forward adjustments to the appropriate department to complete resolve account discrepancies
• Daily tracking and reporting of tasks completed
• Provide quality customer service for all types of customer/caller communication
• Make applicable outbound calls for account resolution/follow up

Requirements

• Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED with a preference for one or more years of college coursework; one to two years general office experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 12 months experience in a high volume office setting, where accuracy is crucial
• Previous student loan/banking/finance/loan servicing a plus
• Analytical and detail oriented
• Positive attitude and team player
• Familiarity with windows based systems and at least data entry skills at 25+ wpm with accuracy.
• Good communication skills/phone aptitude; Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations
